Four Kid-Friendly Videos About Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Talking to children about issues like slavery, segregation, and modern-day racism can be difficult. But as current events continue to show, it's never been more critical to have those discussions with our little ones. It's up to us to raise a more enlightened generation of future leaders.

So here are our four favorite kid-friendly videos to help spark discussion with your littles about Dr. Martin Luther King's dream and legacy. We recommend watching them first to decide what's appropriate; some acknowledge Dr. King's assassination and all address difficult topics, so review first to determine what is a good match for your child's age and understanding.

We hope these videos are helpful to your family, and we wish you a peaceful MLK day.

Thank you so much for these video links! I teach first grade and always have a hard time finding resources that are informative but also first-grade friendly when teaching about MLK Jr…my son and I also just received our first shirts to wear, the “I have decided to stick with love” shirts!!
